SB stands for 'short base' and all
Freeform models (with and without wither cutback) are available in
this shorter length. The price for the short base saddles is the same
as for the standard base saddles.
The Freeform SB saddles were designed
to fit Arabians, Quarter horses and other short-backed horses but
are equally suited for pony's 13.2hh and above. These saddles are
identical to the Freeform saddles with the standard sized base except
they are shorter along the spine and they have slightly narrower panels.
The Freeform has proven to be
excellent for a variety of equestrian sports and horses and riders
seem to excel in this saddle. In Australia the Freeform is starting
to acquire an impressive fan club of very well know riders and organizations.
The feedback we get from customers after 4 years of selling this saddle
is fabulous no matter if the rider is a Grand Prix level dressage
person or medal winning endurance rider. The horses simply move better
and are more balanced. A happy horse is a better performer and the
Freeform has been a welcome relief for many performance and pleasure
horses. This includes horses who have been through dozens of saddles,
chiropractors and equine therapists, horses that were written off
due to back issues and horses that had developed dangerous behaviors
due to saddle pain.

No pressure points have ever been
reported to dealers worldwide in the three years since the Freeform
saddle was released. The Freeform SB saddles are like the bigger full
size saddles equipped with flexible girthpoints which will allow you
to fit the girthstraps perfectly to your horses girth grove. The Freeform
saddles all have a 'twist' and don't make you sit as wide as many
other treeless saddles, they are super comfortable and give just the
right amount of support. The 'twist' detail makes this treeless brand
more comfortable to ride in for riders with very broad backed horses.
The saddle has also been the solution for many riders with back and
hip problems.
The Freeform saddle is very stable
on the horses back and and will fit any horse that does not have an
extremely high wither. Due to a flexible pommel arch; the gullet of
this saddle selfadjusts, the saddle is flexible in all direction without
being floppy. It will keep its shape and it's good looks and it is
maintenance free. As with most treeless saddles, the saddle pad is
of utmost importance and we suggest that the rider does not try to
cut any corners. The job of the saddle pad is not so much shockabsorbtion
with the Freeform because the saddle itself takes very good care of
that by itself. However we need the saddle pad to create a channel
over the horses spine and to ensure wither clearance at all times.
We happily advise you on which saddle pad would be the most suitable
for your horse and discipline of riding. Please request our saddle
fitting questionnaire via email and we shall give you our recommendations.
We may require some photo's of your horse also and may want to discuss
details if the horse in question has a history of back issues. Horse
Connection has fitted saddles for hard to fit horses for the last
3 years with a 98% success rate, however this saddle is also a 'God
send' for any horse lucky enough not have any back issues.
