'The Freeform Liberty'
The Italian Freeform Liberty has all the great features of the original Freeform saddle but has a straighter cut flap and big supportive kneepads. The saddle has adjustable girthing, adjustable stirrup points and is thinned at the bottom of the flap for better leg contact. The base of the Liberty is slightly more flexible than the original Freeform models. This is a great saddle for 'normal' and also for more challenging conformations whilst it still delivers the excellent weight distribution that the Freeform saddles are famous for. We have tested the Liberty since December last year and are very happy with this new model.

Click image to enlargeThe Liberty saddle is suitable for dressage, endurance, trail & NH but probably not for regular jumping due to the fixed kneepads and the more dressage style cut of the flap. We find that this saddle gives very good security to the rider during shies and other unexpected moves.
The Liberty has a nice' twist' and therefore makes it very comfy and suitable for wide set horses. The slightly softer base allows this saddle to mould perfectly also to horses that have a pronounced curve in the back like many of the pony breeds and baroque shaped horses. It is also very suitable for Arabians and is due to the increased rider security a great saddle for endurance and other riding styles that involve speed and fast turns. Of course you can also compete in Dressage in this saddle, the contact is very good and the saddle supports a beautiful position.
The saddlepad that works best under the Freeform Liberty is the Italian HAF pad. We ad one layer of inserts in the HAF pad for higher withered / less ultimately muscled horses to create the desired wither and spinal clearance. Other saddlepads that work well under the Liberty are the Grandeur and Christ saddlepads. However this beautiful saddle is unfortunately not suitable for horses with very high, long and protruding TB type withers. For those horses (usually TB's and some Anglos') it would be best if you looked at the Barefoot and Trekker saddles.
The Liberty is a stunning saddle! clean lines and very elegant with the typial Italian flair.

- a base of 52cm that fits a 16.5" and 17" - for smaller horses/riders and pony's
- a larger base of 58cm that fits seatsizes 16.5 - 18.5" - for any horse bigger than 14.2hh
