The Barefoot Cherokee treeless saddle

Now the most popular model in the Barefoot range. The Cherokee is a Treeless all-purpose saddle made of thick, pliable Nubuck leather with soft, black fleece underside. It is an anatomically shaped treeless saddle that provides excellent wither and spinal clearance. Seven D-rings and leather straps in front and back provide many possibilities to attach saddlebags etc. This saddle model is delivered with a pair of adjustable kneerolls, which can be positioned according to the rider´s preference.
All Barefoot saddles including the Cherokee now have a thick, moulded, pressure-absorbing panel on either side of the horse´s spine. These panels create a gullet to guarantee improved spinal clearance. The panels are also anatomically shaped to the rider´s thighs to reduce bulk and for a bit of twist. As with all Barefoot saddles the pommel, which determines the gullet width is exchangeable for our extra wide, extra narrow or the new soft pommel insert for extremely wide and /or sensitive horses. The Cherokee saddle has a higher cantle made of a semi-elastic material, which is anatomically shaped to horse and rider. For the rider this newly designed cantle provides a deep, softly cushioned and very secure seat.

News: Due to customer request the Cherokee is now also available in all black without the horsehead design and the strings. We call this saddle the 'Cherokee Classic' and the first of those are arriving during July 08.

Like all other Barefoot models the Cherokee enhances the horse´s freedom of motion and encourages engagement of the hindquarters and vertical flexion of the back.
The seat is removable and attaches to the saddle base with wide, non-slip Velcro. It is possible to buy replacement leather seats or you could be really good to your butt and invest in a sheepskin seat for your saddle. The beautiful Cherokee can be mounted with Barefoot fenders or English style stirrup leathers, it looks even better in the flesh than it does in the photo's..
