Bridles & Halters

bridle

Modifiable Barefoot bridle made of soft leather

You can modify the bridle to fit small pony heads to warm- and cold blood horses. Headpiece, nose band and throat-lash are from both sides adjustable. You can easily buckle a bit on and off.  The whole throat lash is removable, so that you can also use the bridle as a halter. The nose band is padded softly. Our recommendation: Use a loose setting of the head piece and the nose band fitting in order to guarantee free breathing of the horse. The bridle comes with clip on leather reins and a beautiful lead rope made from leather and with a panic buckle.

Price: $169 inc GST (on Special now see Specials page please)

Barefoot Bitless bridle Walnut

Riding without force - for all styles of riding

Our bitless bridle evenly and smoothly distributes all pressure over the horses nose, his jaw and the poll. This bridle doesn´t apply punctual pressure but ensures painless aids from the reins, thus creating a trusting companionship between horse and rider.
The throatlatches are prolonged reins, which cross under the horse´s chin and through rings that are connected directly to the noseband. This ensures, that all aids are easily understood by the horse. Giving to the bit is more easily achieved, without wrong flexion at the poll or a tilt or twist there. Bitless bridles enable riding with the smallest aids possible, meaning a short impuls with the right rein creates a painfree but distinct pressure to the left side of the horse´s head. The horse moves away from that pressure, therefore turns his head to the right. Short and soft pressure applied with both reins - your horse will give to that and tuck his head.
Can be used for any style of riding: Dressage, Jumping, Western, Endurance or Trailrides - also for lunging. Like with any new bit, try in an enclosed riding arena first. The noseband should be fitted so that it lays 2 cm above the mouth crease - there should be room for two fingers.
Our bitless bridle is extremely smooth: the noseband as well as the browband are padded softly. The crownpiece is extra wide and thickly padded to reduce any pressure on the sensitive acupuncture points behind the ears.

meroth bit

Meroth Leatherbit

The softest bit available on today's market. The patented Meroth bit has been around for many years in Europe and is recommended by many equine physio's, equine dentists and Craniosacral practitioners over there. It is suitable for any horse, particularly those with a sensitive mouth and any rider in search for a very gentle bit that will allow for precise and subtle communication. Natalie and other riders who tried this bit found that the horses are more relaxed while being ridden with contact and while bridling up. The Meroth bit can be used without additional headpiece (bridle), you can clip the reins right into the D's while the chin strap secures the bit in the horse's mouth. You can also attach the bit to any bridle.

The Meroth bit is available in 3 sizes: Pony, Cob and Full

amber-sidepull

Barefoot Amber Sidepull Bridle

amber-sidepull

Barefoot Amber sidepull with reins.

Gorgeous plaited leather sidepull in a rich light brown colour with matching reins. A sidepull relies on nose pressure and is the least severe style of bitless bridle available. They work perfectly for the trail with clear signals for stopping, backing and turning.

Traditionally sidepulls are used to break in horses in southern Europe and other places, the horses learn to yield to minimal pressure on the head perfectly before the introduction of any style of bit.

A sidepull is not meant to be ridden with continous contact but rather for loose rein riding. Due to no knots sitting on the sensitive facial nerves of the horse a sidepull is more humane than any rope-halter bridle with knots. The release is instant and the control is very good without inflicting any pain.

Bridle Syringa 2-in-1

Our Bridle Syringa can be used without a bit as side-pull or as a Bitless-Bridle with crossed reins – see below. It is great to be used for ground work or longeing.
Browband and crown-piece are padded softly. The crown-piece is extra wide and thickly padded, so it reduces punctual pressure behind the ears noticeably. Pressure is applied onto the bridge of the nose by two doubled ropes, which are tied together along the side.

Cross under style Bitless Bridle:
Can be used as a cross under style Bitless Bridle, the reins are prolonged and attach to the throat-latch. Thanks to the crossed reins, the aids are easily understood and having the horse give to the bit is much easier achieved. A short impulse on the left rein will apply a soft but distinct pressure onto the right side of the horse's cheek – the horse moves away from that pressure towards the left. A short impulse on both reins or alternating on both will lead your horse to yield.

Sidepull:
If you want to use the Bridle as a side-pull, simply attach the reins to the rings along the nose-band and take off the leather bands which run to the throat-latch and are attached with snap-hooks.

This bridle can be adjusted on both sides, as well as the chin strap, which is leather-made. Comes with matching reins in a leather-rope combination with snap-hooks.

• bitless alternative for all styles of riding
• soft and even distribution of pressure without force
• softly padded brow-band
• Crown-piece extra-wide and thickly padded
• Embroidery on Brow-band and Cheek-piece
